Description
Rack PDUs (power distribution units) are the power strips of a server rack, built for continuous load and mounted so the sockets sit next to the equipment. Good ones also show how much current each rack is drawing.

Worth knowing
Add up the load before you plug in, because a PDU and the circuit behind it have limits, and overloading shows up as a tripped breaker at night. Run each of two power supplies from a different feed, so one failing circuit does not take the rack down.
