Fuel level sensors sit in the tank and report how much fuel is in it. Linked to a tracker, they show when a vehicle filled up, where it was, and when the level dropped while the engine was off.

Worth knowing
A sensor has to be calibrated to the shape of the tank, which means filling it in steps while we record the readings. Skip that and the numbers are only roughly right. Sloping roads make the reading move, so judge by trends and not by single values.
